New Year's Day Ice Fishing in DA UP

Hope all members will have ice soon. I had the most fantastic day of fishing; catching black crappie. Never in my life have I ever caught as many big crappie as I did today. Started fishing in the early morning until dark. Had to put my rain suit over my snowmobile suit; because it was a rain snow mix this morning & the wind was howling. Had to put my rubber boots on because there was water on top of the ice. All of the fish (8) that I caught were between 10"-12"; heaviest weighed #1.4. Just wanted to share my experience with all MS members. I'm still pretty excited about the day's events. Good luck fishing to all. Jeff

Honestly crappie are terrible eating. My dog loves em though so if you send them to me, I will be sure to pass them along to her. /wink

wow not bad at all congrats. I will be up in that area thursday threw sunday not sure if i am going to go looking for ice yet or not that sure does look like fun though....congrats jeff. at least someone ice getting some ice fishing in this year haha. good work.AND many more to come.
