All,

If you have either one of the above mentioned tools and have insight (whether good or bad) that you can share, please do so. I've just invested in this auger and GPS unit and I'm just looking to hear what other owners have to say about them.

Thanks.

Don't know about the Garmin, but you should get many years of use out of that Jiffy. My dad has one that we bought back in the early 90's that still starts on the 1st or 2nd pull every time. Good investment. Of course at the rate we're getting ice, you won't even get a chance to break it in!

Thanks!

I hear all this talk about starting on the first or second pull. Mine is brand new and it takes 5-6-7 sometimes more for it to start.....is this just to be expected in this 'break in phase'?

It's a brand new plug on a brand new auger.....or is that exactly why I should change it?:dizzy:

Not sure but I think they put a lube in the engine when new to prevent engine damage from pulling without fuel/oil in it. This could have got on your plug
Might be a bad plug from the start (it happens)
If your getting good fuel and nobody played with the carb adjustments I bet it's your plug.
For $2.50 it's worth a try!

good luck

Not too unusual for a new auger, just part of the break in process. Also, if you lay it on it's side while storing or transporting, the fuel may drain and might take a few more pulls to get it going.

You guys rock! I think I'll take the $2.50 new plug advice and just give it the ole college try!

Thanks fellas!
