I'm doing pretty good on the squirrels and i love the mini-deer hunt they provide. I was looking at the multible calls on the market wondering if they work. I'm a duck hunter at heart so any call that works, is for me. If they do work what is the best call for the job? Thanks for the info.

What I have found around here is that a call works well on the fox squirrels but does nothing with, or even scares the blacks & greys. I like my Lohmans barker call with the rubber plunger bulb.

I've also used that call with success. I also think it works better on fox squirrels.

I have had decent luck with that Lohman call too. I have had even better luck with a Knight & Hale squirrel call. It is a clear plastic tube with a rubber bellows on the end. You tap the bellow to make the bark. It also has a small hole in the side that you blow into that will recreate the alarm squeal.

Good luck out there. If you really want to have a blast, chase them with a bow!

Try the squirrel distress call. It'll get evey squirrel in the woods barking.

Primos makes a squirrel call I've had good success with in the past, but the best thing I've used (which is a trick my dad taught me many years ago when I first started hunting with him :) ) is clicking two quarters together. I don't know why but it works well. Plus, I enjoy hunting the "old school" way now and again. ;)

"old school"? I didn't think anyone had money in the "old days"  Just kidding. I will have to try that one.

I just place my lips on my hand when it's cupped and make an odd chirpy kissing sound that sounds like a ticked off squirrel and sometimes it get a response.:D Calling can work.;)
