I personally have not, but this is what I have seen:
We were at Muskrat Lake a couple of years ago and my friend dropped his through the hole into about 8 feet of murky water. He was pretty stressed out (lots of business contacts on the phone) but kept fishing. The phone had a leather case on it and he eventually hooked it with a tear drop hook and got it back - dumb luck I guess.
I personally have dropped a phone in the drink while steelhead fishing and have also dropped a brand new camera phone in a toilet full of brown trout. I can elaborate, but it was not one of my proudest or finest moments.

My dad did 2 years ago. Since then, I keep a hard drive magnet with me in case I drop my keys in or something.

I was fishing Fair Haven and pulled my cel out of my upper bib pocket. The battery caught something as I pulled it out, detaching it from my phone. I was standing directly over the hole when it happened. The battery hit the water and sank to the bottom of the lake. I tried the rest of the day to snag the battery with a treble hook to no avail. Finally when it was time to leave I pulled out the Perch spear trying to wedge the battery between the tines. When the battery started sinking deeper into the lake bottom I knew it was time to give up. I throw the spear and impaled it into the battery. When it came to the surface it was bubbling and sizzling from the holes in the battery contacting the water. I won't have tried so hard if it wasn't a company provided phone that I needed the old battery inorder to get a new battery:lol:.

I have not lost one thru the ice but I did lose 2 in two years while covering the boat. The first one I was able to net it, dry it out and use it.
The second one was retrieved but renounced dead on arrival

I didn't lose a cell, but 3 years ago while fishing in the channels at Gun Lake, I bent over to clear the ice from the hole and down went my new FRS two-way radio. Just bought the pair a week earlier!!

Two Zippo lighters have taken the plunge. One was recovered a couple of minutes later and lasted for several years after that.
No phones but a buddy did leave his in a pant pocket and sent it through the washing machine. It took 3 days to dry out and then it started working again.
There is a web page that gives step by step directions on how to save a cell phone that has hit the water but I do not know the URL for it.

3 in my shanty alone, with 1 recovered. I keep mine in my pocket and if I have to use it or get a call I now go outside of the shanty. Funny thing is I have never dropped the etrex down the hole - go figure.

Not a cell story, worst. I was young and had my first small ice fishing tackle box, well not even a tackle box. One of those clear containers. I was outside my buddies ice shanty and he asked if he could use one of my lures, I was like sure. So I unzip the shanty, grap my box and had it to him without looking inside the shanty. I feel him touch it let go, woops. There goes have of my lures down the hole. Man was I pissed

I havent but a friend lost his in the hole. He called me to see if we could
see it with my aquaview. We spent close to an hour looking at the bottom
(about 7') and never saw it.
I'm thinking it didnt sink straight down. Maybe it zipped off to the side of
the hole like other flat objects ive seen go in the water.

I have lost two down the hole fishing and one down a Beaver slide checking my traps. A cel phone looks kinda funny on the otherside of a 330. Had to chip the ice out to get that one back. One of them I lost down the ice fishing hole even blinked all the way to the bottom!
