I went ice fishing today for the first time; for the 2006-2007 season. It helped soothe the ice fishing withdrawals. Spent about eight hours on the ice. This early morning it was so foggy (after our little snowfall) that I could barely see as I driving to a lake; plus the roads were snow covered & slippery. Temperature most of the day was around 28 & cloudy. It was kinda errie going on the lake (around sunrise) with the dense fog & not knowing the ice thickness. The ice was almost 6" thick; with a couple of inches of snow on top. Fished a couple of lakes & caught some pike/perch/bluegill/crappie; nothing big enough to keep. Got to try out the Lowrance iFinder H20 with the LakeMaster chip. Wish that I would of had the Artic Armor suit & gloves (on order from KD Outdoors); to test out. Too bad that most of you fellow MS members are so far away. I usually fish alone & have the lakes to myself, most of the time. I do wear a PFD, carry ice spikes, have a cell phone, a throwable PFD. Wishing everyone a safe & happy New Year. Jeff
