Roland ought to be ashamed of himself.
To add insult to injury, they want 8.99 shipping.
For only an ADDITIONAL 6.99 they will get it to you in one to two weeks.

Who do they think they are, Cabelas?

I thought one of the ideas behind taking a kid fishing was to get them away from video games, not to turn fishing into one...sheesh.....

I volunteer to field test it. PM me for my address on where to send it! LOL!!

Oh, and I plan on steelhead fishing with it... and maybe some pike. Care to make bets on how many fish it lands before it's broken??

While funny, you can now add fishing to the list of things that have been dumbed down in our society... Another great product from China I'm sure...

Be on the lookout for the "Redneck Edition" coming this fall! Shoots twice as far and comes with snagging rig concealed into our silly bobber contraption. Redman and 12pk of Schlitz sold seperately.

Can't you all just wait to see some idiot roll up next to you with one of those things. Martin should be banned from fishing for sponsoring something so ridiculous.

Sorry in advance...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v425/1drtheopolis2/2guns.gif

I guess I gotta disagree with you guys on this one.
While I in no way think that it is a quality piece of fishing equipment(or quality anything for that matter), it is probably functional to a degree. Many kids out there wouldn't even give fishing a thought with all of the other game choices they have today. Give them something that appears high tech or kewl and viola (!), they try fishing. Catching a few and then realizing they could do better with good equipment may be all that it takes to turn them into true sportsman.

Then again many folks could say that if you use a discount, no big brand name outfit that you aren't a real fisherman. Truth is a whopping amount of fish are caught on cheap equipment and gimick lures every season. When noodle rods were first pioneered by Dick Swan anglers laughed at how ridiculous of an idea it was to attempt catching steelhead or salmon this way. Now if you use anything but you are considered a novice and meat hunter at best. And the term sportsman is truely a measure of the the person holding the equipment rather than the equipment itself.

And lastly, while I am not a bass fisherman, Roland Martin is a very sucessful angler both in terms of tournament fishing, guiding, and especially marketing and I have to tip my hat to him.
He and a handfull of others took the sport of freshwater fishing to the billion dollar industry that it is today.

Laugh all you want, I see some good in it.
what about using a grapple hook to escape from prison.
what about a tree with no limbs low enough to start a climb, No problem with the rocket launched grapple hook, just hook a limb and reel your self up...
how about when your kid lets loose of the bow line and the boat float floats away from the launch, no problem get out the handy rocket launcher with mini Grapple hook
how about when the cat climbs a tree and won't come down, just get the handy dandy launcher and tie a small fish and shoot it up and when the cat grabs the fish just jerk him out of the tree, no more calls to the fire dept.
ever had a retriever that refused to get the training dummy thrown into a pond, no problem just reel it in with the handy launcher , no more getting wet wading out to get the training dummy because your sorry dog wouldn't
I can see lots of potential in the handy launcher

When I purchased my first house, I bought it with all possessions too. So we had an estate sale. One of the items I sold was a Popeil Pocket Fisherman for $10.00. Needless to say, I mentioned it to someone, and when I told them it had the box and instructions they nearly slapped me for selling for so cheap! She was an dealer of antiques and other collectables, she told me the right person (someone's junk may be someone else's gold) would have paid 5 times that amount!

I see this "fishing pole" being the latest weapon in the gangland fighting in LA, NY and the local skating rinks here in Grand Rapids. Sharpened objects will be catapulted from them with alarming accuracy.

"No no offica... we ain't go no guns... just these endorsed by Roland Martin fishin poles... "

yea i could see it trying to get kids into fishing but if you're not catching any fish its not fun. so a kid who fishing fir the first time will need to be put on some fish befor they'll have any fun with it. just my opinion!!
