Drummond Island resorts and fishing

I guess my wife and I have settled on Drumond Is. for our summer vacation. Any suggestions on resorts and the fishing 4th of July week would be greately appreciated.

Thanx minnow for the link, only place left with vacancies was Arnolds, got a trailer reserved and he seemed like a real nice person. Any islands better than others for Smallies?

It has been many years since I stayed on Drummond Island. It is a really beautiful place. We stayed at two different lodges. One of them was Johnson's Resort, I cannot remember the other. Both were great places. We caught the Herring run one summer over the July 4th week. They were the only fish biting, and they were alot of fun to catch. The herring bite is a real party environment. Many boats tightly packed together with a more the merrier flair. People holloring and shouting every time a big one was caught. And there were alot of nice ones caught! The fishing was better for pike and bass during Memorial day weeks for us.
