mine is gonna be black clown style willow blade size 2. size 6 hook with glow green, glow pink, glow orange dots and maybe a glow bead on hook if i get them in time ordered yesterday post a pic when done. this is my first time making a jig or soldiering anything .Ive been working on my flytieing ice fly`s also,the fishing world is not ready for them yet they look like a bug after the nukes hit:yikes:

This is my entry for this swap. It's a Glow blue Baby Zitz style jig. It has a green and charteuse glitter back. Main body glows blue, belly glows pinkish orange, eyespot glows yellow.

It's not dry enough to put the split rings on yet, hope to get them out today. This one's not one my site, painted just for the swap.

BigBOb i always undercoat no matter what color i use w/ two coats of a white. then i do what ever coloring i do from lightest to darkest. w/ a white under coat your colors will show up more brilliant and bright. as for dots on darks. i do another under coat of a dot w/ 2 coats of white then two coats of the color. at least thats what i did for the last jig swap. then i clear coat em to seal em up. good luck.

Now just to let you know I used up all my jigs from the previous swaps, I put a small minnow and used them out of the boat last year. them nasty carps youtend to lose them.

I bought a bunch of Ultra Wire and Hot Beads clearenced at Cabela's awhile ago and figured I would put it to use....

Jig-fly in the mail!

I call it jig-fly because it's fairly heavy head and could be used as a light jig.

The fly is designed for bluegill, but with a #10 hook and the red and gold colors at the head, I think it could be used for perch tipped with small minnow, eye, grub, etc. May want to clip off tail if using it this way.

Receipe for interested parties.

Thread: Black Uni-Thread 8/0
Head: small gold cone head, ruby bead.
Collar: Emu

landshark.....I did a couple of those blood worms that I used on a dropper under a floating spider last year when the gills were on there beds......they worked like a charm......I'm betting they work good through the ice too. I think you are using larva lace for the body of the grub......if so.....I got a couple techniques that will make your tie out point cleaner and add a little life to the fly......PM me and I'll fill ya in

maybe you should just mail out what you have?...im not even in this swap, but was interested in being in one. ive been following this thread since you contacted me on another site about jig swaps. to me, if you make a commitment to participate in a jig swap, then you should follow through with it. 10 or 12 jigs, spoons, no matter what they are dont take that long to finish. you guys started on 12/29/06 and it is now 2/6/07...plenty of time to complete the assignment. his last post was the 1/22/07, so he's had ample time to come up with his needed supplies and get the stuff out since then. IMO, sending out what you have is only fair to the other guys who got their stuff done ASAP, and have been patiently waiting for quite some time now....thats just a view from the outside.;)

good luck with the swap, i hope his jigs arrive soon so you guys can put all this stuff to the test.....great job builders, allot of nice lookin stuff there.:D
