Cabela's Prodigy Baitcaster

I was thinking of buying the Prodigy baitcasting reel with the Fish Eagle II rod as a combo deal. Was wondering if anyone has any input an using this reel / combo or any other baitcasters that are left-hand advalible. Also what action rod do you guys use for bass and pike fishing, Medium or Medium-Heavy rods .I mainly use crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Any input would be helpful , Thanks

I have two Prodigy Baitcasters, and love 'Em ! Great reel for the money. Mine get used for verticle jigging for Walleyes (flipping switch is a MUST) and Casting cranks/spinnerbaits for Smallmouth. For cranks and spinnerbaits I've been real happy with a pair of G Loomis CR722 Medium action 6' rods. For pitching jigs/ larger cranks (1/2 oz & up) I prefer 7' Med Hvy rods. Hope this helps - Bob
