The wife layed out , cut the pattern and hand sewed a buckskin shirt for me for Christmas. It took 5 buckskins. lol
She stayed traditional and used real deer sinew to stitch it.
Took her 2 months..........I'll try and post a pic of it later.

Yup, she's sumthin else !
She also got me a wool Trappers coat to go with it. One like Charlton Heston wore in the movie " The Mountain Men " :coolgleam
I really like the old time cloths and wear'em all the time. People kinda look at me funny when I walk in the grocery store sporting a full body coyote hat........lol

Sweet!
Did she use brain tan ?
I have two hides I am going to start brain tanning next week.
The warmer weather should help speed up the process.
Real Sinew takes quite an effort , but it holds up nicely.
Get her a book on Quill work :) seriously quality quill work is an art and people collect it.

Trout, she bought the hides already tanned. I'll get a book on quill work, that's a great idea !

We decided to make each others big Christmas present this year.

I took all my old deer racks and with a chandlier I bought at a yard sale last year made a hanging antler chandlier for her. Took 10 racks to make and I accented it with amber lights and a gold chain to hang it.
Turned out great ! It's a well known fact amongst my friends that I'm not to good with my hands ( no jokes here fellas...lolol ) and everybody kept saying
" YOU made that ?!?! " LOL I was just as suprised as they were at how nice it turned out. :)

I'll get pics of both up today.

Hey Quadd4, you just never mind about my wifes undies....lololol
