Hey folks, looks like we are building good ice here in the Northern part of the U.P. Temps have been in the 20's at night and with little to no snow, we have nice clear ice. I drove by Teal Lk. yesterday and there was one fisherperson in a Clam portable fishing near the water plant. Will keep you all up to date.

Tuesday when I drove past Teal there was 2 portable shantys out. Probably the same Clam and then one more up towards the beach area.

Bass Lake out by Michigamme had one portable shanty on it.

Hope we get some down here soon.....

I am thinking about making a spur of the moment road trip up there. I have read in a couple places that lake gogebic has safe ice 4-6 inches. Has anyone heard info on that??

Hey Eric! I hope you had a great Christmas! Yeah, there was one goofball fishing oh two weeks ago when the weather was fluctuating between warm and cold. I guess lack of common sense coupled with accidents is what culls the dummys out of the gene pool! I can't wait to get out and catch some fish!! This winter has been great as far as the heating bills go but totally raw on the outdoor front!!! If I wanted winter's snow free I would go to Florida. At least I could wear my shorts and fish all the time. LOL:lol: It's coming and when it does, we're gonna get pounded!! Take care buddy! I 'll keep you all in touch.
