Does anyone know of a good hunting holster for a Ruger MKII? I would like to put a red dot on my pistol but I have not seen a lot of holsters that would fit a gun with a scope.

Thanks,
Eric

Just about all I've found, and the one I use from mine, is the "bandolier" style like this one from Cabelas. It's available in black or camo. I also like it because I can use the same holster for my Mk 2 or my S&W 629.

I modified the nylon Uncle Mike's hip holster that held an unscoped Mark 2 to fit a scoped Mark 2 by cutting a slot in the front edge of it to clear the scope mounts. Holds the pistol and scope securely. Should work for a red dot equipped Mark 2 also.

I picked up this one at Meijers for $5.99 I believe. By the paintball stuff. http://www.crosman.com/site/listing/1288

It fits my Crossman 1377,Tauras .40 (Beretta knock off), Raging bull .480 and my Browning Buckmark with a holo sight on it. Would be tight with a dot but it just might work.

Thanks for the replies, I think I will try and modify my current holster to fit the dot.
