I always thought that ceramic guides were the best to have, and now I see most ice rods are being built with stainless.
I was wondering what people thought were the pros & cons of each. For instance, I thought that even stainless could corrode & that ceramic would be smoother.

There is no advantage of stainless over ceramic guides. If the guides are titanium then you will have an advantage because they will not be cut by braided line. Stainless can be grooved just like ceramic.
However since we are talking about ice rods not trolling rods etc I dont really see were there is any advantage either way outside of the possiblillity that you have less surface area on a stainless steel guide to ice up.
