Met up with Steelyarn and fished in Flat Rock today from 2 to 9pm. Did see one Steelhead landed late this afternoon and reports of one hooked earlier in the day. Of course the usual problem existed: couldn't keep the walleye, some shad and suckers off the hook.

The net is in at the fish ladder. 40 fish were passed last night, 33 at 10am today and myself and Steelyarn watched as another 23 were passed at 5pm. The fish are moving fast and the run might end quickly. Mixed in the with the steels were Muskie and Suckers. Here are some photos and don't anyone tell that you saw this posted. One of the club members thinks that people will drive from up north to fish the Huron if the fish are in. I don't believe this but if he finds out that I posted this I may not be able to help pass the fish again and they will not tell me about the fish passings. I think everyone here knows how I feel about sharing info but I chose not to argue with him.

Oh well, your pics turned out quite nice.
The clearity of the pics from your camera are pretty impressive.

The huron seems awful high and muddy in flat rock. I would think it would be a tough bite right now.

It is high but not as dark as it should be for this water depth. It's hard to say about the bite. You can't get your offering past the walleyes, shad and suckers. I hope the walleyes are done real soon. Reports are that walleye are being caught off the mouth returning from the spawn so hopefully they will be done soon.

I have got to get out and go to one of these surveys.

As I understand it, one of the main goals of the HRFA is to promote fishing the Huron. The overwhelming majority of people who fish this river go to Flat Rock, the rest of us, especially club members, know where to go to get away from the circus.

Just give me a handful of Zoo Cougars and I'll keep quiet about this at the fly tying.:D

Hey guys, I'd love to see the aldder being checked. Is there a possibility of me getting to? If so tell me a time and I'll hopefully be there.
