Looking for some new stuff this year to use in the environment metioned in the title. I already know of Predator and ASAT. Are they're any others worth looking at? I just need some light weight stuff since I already have my Scent Lok and Raingear already bought or picked out with two different patterns to match a few landscapes. I wish they made an all-terrain type that was feasible to wear anywhere. I know some claim they do, but I haven't found it yet.

Tip of the Day: When you're bowhunting out of an aspen, you stick out like a sore thumb in MOBU camo.

I have no idea if it is any good, but I've been looking for better camo patterns myself.

Also, A real good sight with many very experienced backpack hunters is ...

a quick dip in some brown dye will make a camo outer coating made from white sheets or snow camo birchy in no time. or you can mist it on with a spray bottle and throw it in the wash.

Thanks guys, some of those Western patterns are pretty nice yoopertoo. they have Ghost patterns on there too Ninja.

Which one are you thinking yoopertoo? I'm looking more for a pattern with no leaves for later in the season.

Same here. I don't like their aspen camo. I think River Ghost would be best for late season. The Ridge Ghost would be pretty good in many places I hunt where there is a lot of conifer cover.

These are nice too:

I like mothwing's winter pattern.

Cabela's has a nice pattern for conifers. Gamehide makes a good one called Naked North that doesn't have any leaves.

What Predator stuff are you talking about Ack. Would you go with the Fall Brown Deception or the Fall Grey with more white? I'm sort of leaning towards this stuff too. I know someone who uses ASAT with good success too. I know another guy who hunts with snow camo from a tree with no leaves on the trees because of the skyline.

Here's another one I forgot about too: http://www.skylinecamo.com/home.php3#

Looks pretty similar or the same as above I think.

I know, but there is a bunch of them there. That's why I was asking about the Fall Grey or Deception Brown.

I like the brown.... I think it would fit into a lot of areas I hunt.

IMHO ASAT is the only camo worth a dime of my money.

I personally use Fall Brown and think it is their best color, but unfortunately Predator discontinued it last year. I would go with the Fall Gray over the Deception for hunting in aspens, but either one would be better than your MOBU. The ASAT would also be a good choice.....their 3D suit looks pretty good, I just couldn't get one that fit very well.

Saw some of your pics Ack, do you have any with your camo "at work" in the field? Saw you on the "other" forum too!

Unfortunately I do not have any field photos....I could maybe try to get some to post, though. In the meantime check out the pics in the first post of this thread to get an idea of what Predator camo can do in the woods.....it will totally destroy the human outline!

Yeah, I saw those somewhere else. Thanks. I asked this of some other guys and they all showed me RT and Mo........what a joke that was. I can't believe I own any MO honestly, but it does work in cedars, pines, and other dark areas.

Yep, RT and MOBU are great for turkey hunting too....just not so well 25 feet up in the hardwoods.

I'm still searching. I want something that has the broadest application. I've drifted over into looking at the digital camo patterns. This lead me to the military patterns.

Check out this site. Especially read the "about" page.

I used Nat Gear for a year or so and it does work pretty good, but the pattern lacks contrast and looks like a solid color from a distance.

Here are some pics I borrowed from another site. They are of Predator Fall Gray camo. I have some in black and white if anybody wants to see them. Sorry Ack, you probably already saw them!

I like the naturalgear. I had not seen this one before.

The predator fall gray is perfect for certain situations, like the hardwoods in fall, but I think the bold distinct shapes have some flaws.
