This is the link for the product that makes yours portable. I am sure if you search the web or Ebay you can find it a lot cheaper. I have the 535 portable and it is a great unit. I take it out in the summer and winter in the case and just have a PVC pipe set up to drop over the boat for the summer. If you are going to use it for ice fishing be aware that the screen needs to stay a little warm. If the LCD gets too cold it does not seem to be quite as fast or sharp. In my opinion.

Nope , ya just have to wait for the s l o w w w w servers where I have the two images hosted. Seems once they start to sling data at you - it usually keeps coming until it's "done" They are around 200k in size and 1152 pixels wide or high. I'm pretty sure once you get them to load , you won't miss 'em.
takes a while most of the time with this company hosting the pictures , and I know that it's easier for the M-S Server to run more quickly if I host images elsewhere - no bandwidth wasted slinging the pictures to ya from Steve's server. Actually if more people knew that and utilized off site image hosting , the M-S Server would probably be somewhat more responsive to requests.

;)
If ya still can't see 'em AFTER I reload fresh images to the server LMK and I'll put some smaller ones up.

Where did you get the battery and how long does it last between charges?

Corona ,
It depends on the backlight setting. The X67c model which is usually used on the ice has an LED backlight which takes considerably less power that the cold cathode flourescent in my LMS332c.
I'm Pretty sure your Humminbird uses LEDs on it's backlight.
I run the backlight dimly when it's dark and if it's a cloudy day I run the backlight the brightest. I get between 4-7 hrs and I can turn the 'ping' speed down and that will give more life. The battery & charger was $20 at Gander last year - I can assure you they're way better than the old days of running two 6V lantern batteries in series - and being rechargeable - it's way cheaper too .
I used velcro straps for the cables & some 3/4" square plastic I got for nuttin' along with cheap0 harware from Menards.
Folds up & fits in a 6Gal bucket great.
You should get from a half to a full day on one charge with your unit due to LED backlighting and a slightly lower power output.

Robert, as I'm all set in the gear dept. (or so the wifey says so, just ask her ! (not a clue ! ) ), I'm still interested in seeing your pics. Why can't I ? All I'm getting is the ever disgusting "Red X" !

It probably took 3 minutes or more for the images to load here.

I don't think broadband helps you when the file host is as slowwwww as a 14.4k modem....

that's why - you need to WAIT even longer or try hitting the refresh button , Jeff.

Hey Bob , they are the exact same battery and BTW - I did resize them , they are only 800 pixels high or wide.... they would spill off most people's screens otherwise!
:yikes:
