Looking for perch info for Muskegon or Whitehall. I know that Hamilton Reef is a wealth of info on White Lake. Also looking for anyone else's (is that a word?) input.
I'm thinking of hitting either of these two lakes and the big lake on Saturday.
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.:)

I have been fishing a couple of times a week at White lake for the last month or so and have been
catching limits of decent Gills. The best part is you can leave your boat home and fish off the city docks or the shore at the Lyons Den.The Perch have been spotty.

Lots of people fishing sand docks on Muskegon Lake today. The only guy I talked to with a limit was quitting at 8:30. Didn't see much action at 11:00 when I went by them. I trolled Lake MI nice morning but no fish. Talked to a couple other trollers and they said the same. The early guy with the perch had some nice ones but didn't ask what he was using. Tim

They are still doing good on the perch on Muskegon lake out from Bear lake channel {and slightly south} where the water drops off to 55-65ft. You have to get there brite and early or you will miss the bite. You will probably see several boats in the area to help you find right where to go.

Thanks guys for the info. Will be out on the water no later than 7:30 am and hope that's not too late. Another question. Does anyone happen to know the name of the bait shop by the launch in Muskegon and what time does it open. I think its near the papermill. And is there another bait shop near Fisherman's Landing launch. There used to be a bait shop real close to there but it's closed now.
Thanks again, Brad

Thats Shoreline Bait and Tackle at the end of McCracken St they open early for perch guys. Or you have Dusk to Dawn on apple ave (M46) mile and half east of 31 on north side of 46. Guys at Dusk to Dawn are good people to deal with. Shoreline 759-7254 Dusk to Dawn 767-9706 D to D opens @ 6am not sure about other.

Thanks Timdog, I'll be taking Apple ave in and dusk to dawn is on the way. Never knew it was there. That's why this web site is so great: a good quick way to get info. Thanks again.

Sailor, I haven't been out, been steelheading or doing chores. I have seen guys fishing in wheeler drain and another private inlet.
I don't know if they are doing any good. Wheeler drain is real high and dirty right now but they might be getting crappie just outside of wheeler drain in the main lake. Wheeler drain is the only creek or channel on the south east side of the lake. Only access is by boat.
I haven't heard of anything on the surrounding lakes.

Hesslakeman, the information from Timdog is good. Everyone is also waiting for the Lake Michigan action to pick up. Any breaks in the weather will have the perch pros searching. Meanwhile the perch in Muskegon and White Lakes are smaller, but actually better tasting with enough for a meal. Don't spend too much time in one place. The fish are moving more now. Thanks Timdog for covering me while I was gone out of town.

Hamilton Reef, thanks for replying and thanks to everyone else.
You've all been very helpful. I'll try to post a follow up next Friday when I get back to work to let you know how we did. If anyone is out on Saturday say howdy, We'll be in a white with black accent 20' Starcraft open bow fiberglass. No radio yet but soon.

hesslakeman,

The closest bait shop to fisherman's landing is Angler Archer,
It is on the north side of the causeway across from the conservation club and a little west.

Not sure about their hour's.
