Just wondering if anyone did well on the walleyes today on the river?

My Partner and I fished for a couple of hours this morning and didnt get a fish. We only saw 2 fish netted. The wind was pretty tough coming through there and the chop was about all my 15 foot boat wanted.

Did anyone find a place to "hide" from the south winds and still manage to catch fish??

Fished upper Detroit River Saturday and was skunked. Water was dirty on the Canadian side from Sturgeon Hole down to Casino. Had a big one on wire at the Sturgeon Hole but got off about 10 foot from thr boat.

Fished Sunday on Canadian side of Peche Island in water that looked like coffee with cream. Got lucky and picked up 2 males both 18" on #9 chartreuse & black Rapalas. Both fish caught between 10:00 and 10:30 am.

fished hard both days for a boat total of only 8 it was some tough fishing.almost entered tournement last night but had a slow day so me and partner thought we would save our $100 turns out the 3 that we got today would have put us in 4th place with about 18lbs and we took 3 hr break for lunch oh well maybe next time.jigged yesterday but the 3 today we were handlining pencil plugs.got to see the guy catch the 15+lber what a monster .

I would like to try that handlining. It looked like the handliners were having an easyier time fishing today than I was trying to keep a jig on the bottom.

One Question..........how often do you snag off handlining? Looks like it could get expensive with 2-3 plugs on a line and a big ol weight. Do you ever loose the whole rig? Thats gotta be $15-20 bucks worth.

I would like to get a boat name on my boat also so you guys can say hi when we pass out there. I met pyke mike out there that way..........would have never known but he has a name on his boat that I recognized. Anyhow if you see a white with blue sylvan with a 40 horse merc give me a wave. I usually wear a green coat and black bibs.

Brother and I fished from about 7am til noon, not a bite! Very rough chop and hard to control the boat against the wind. Got soaked coming back to the launch. Oh well, always next weekend. :) :)

I fished trenton channel today, the wind had no mercy on me. I dont have a trolling moter for my 18ft cutty cabin so i spent most of the day drifting up river( If you can believe that one, I couldnt) anyways we landed one big male. going to try again tuesday or wednesday. will let ya know results

Fished Sunday eve from about 4:30-8:30 three of us jigging Trenton channel area. I boated one and son's buddy lost one at the boat. Still a very tough bite. Hopefully warmer weather this week will help. Probably will try again Wed or Thur.
I think I'll try some handlining for a change.

It's true what they say," If you don't like Michigan weather, wait ten minutes", Rain, snow, three footers at the stacks, and later in the afternoon calm as glass, females ready to bust at the seams, saw two that looked like lake michigan brown trout,, I mean footballs,, almost as wide as long,,

hey whale i would not lie to you i got to see him catch it then seen it in his live well at the launch.huge it looked prehistoric.it made my 12 lber on the wall look it was a baby.hey firetiger was that some crazy conditions or what.we went and got 5 dz minnows but when we got out there figured was not wasting time trying to hold us.handlineing in those conditions was much easier and got us three nice fish.suprised i did not run into you out there.oh ya whale the 15 lber was caught right by the stacks.the guy entered that tournement and got skunked on sunday.god luck to all.

Went out Friday night and Saturday morning. My boat got four fish. It was cold and windy hard to jig. I had three on and lost them on top of the water at the boat. Talk about frustrating! We may go out in two weeks.

Do you have a trailer plate that says WALLEYE1? If so I talked to you at the lighthouse bait shop. Just before you went out Friday.
