Just wondering if there is what the ice cover on lake ovid ( sleepy hollwo state park)? usually covers up pretty quick.:confused:

Ovid tends to freeze pretty early, but we are still a ways off, I believe. Why don't you join us at Leo's Lodge on the 20th (see the Outings forum) to talk about local ice fishing options, among other things.....:)

Lake ovid has open water as of a couple days ago. I think we're a few weeks away yet. I wouldn't go on that shore ice either, especially if we're getting 40's and rain next week.
Dave's right, just go to the Lodge and drink some beers for a while.

I'm 5 miles from "sleazy hollow" as we like to call it, and although I haven't been through there in the last couple weeks, the small ponds around here still have open water. So I'm sure we're a way off from safe ice yet.
