I haven't heard anything from the island in the last week. I know some guys were taking a few decent perch last weekend. If you have been to Omer it seems you probably don't mind catching some of those bugle-mouth bass. If you want to stay close to home and still catch some nice fish, I have been taking some nice suckers in belle river just up from Marine City. There is good access at the end of Springborn Rd on Belle River Rd. and also at the East China park on M-29 at Recor Rd. I released a master angler white sucker this morning that was 25 inches and estimated at 6 to 7 lbs. Caught fish until the wind switched from the west to the north and it started to snow. With the warming trend this week it should only get better. :cool:
