Very surprised to check my two pocket sets Monday and found I had connected with a beaver:yikes: . Didn't think a 1.5CS would hold one.
The pic below is after I pulled him back up the cable to the base of the pocket.

Another pic of my "lazymans" way of getting him to my pickup! He weighed around 45lbs best I could tell, I'm thinking that is possibly an average size beaver?

An experience I'll never forget! I dried him off and put him in the freezer whole. I'm not well equiped to put up a beaver pelt and since I don't plan to target them I'm not 100% sure whether I should get equiped and try to put him up or not - is it common to sell them in the round? Suggestions?
Thanks and good luck on the rest of the season to everyone.

Mike

45 lbs and average size beaver? Ah no!! A 45 lber is an adult it is not huge but is a nice beaver avg for Micigan is a smaller than that. Great job on the beaver now you are hooked! Doesn't surprise me at all a coilspring holding a beaver if you get a good front foot way in like you did and on a drowner that beaver didn't have a chance. Now I wouldn't recommend setting those traps for them though!

Great job and good pics also go get some more now!

Thanks for the replies (even the smarta** ones:lol: !)
I can't imagine having to carry several of those critters out of a swamp or flooded timber. Definitely a good workout I'm sure!

Man was this thread disappointing, especially after the promise of beaver pictures.

Seriously, Nice job, and thanks for sharing.

Now that is a perfect example of why you should rig on a drowner :)

Great job.

Your right to they are a lot of work to carry out of the woods. I had two last week at the same time. I left the 330's attached so I had handles
