I've almost made the decision to pull the trigger on buy a new photo gallery for this site. If the developer of this photo gallery will agree to add just one more feature it will be a done deal.

This will mean that the current home-page/gallery will probably be done away with in the near future. I know that is bad news to those of you who have spent some time in there setting up home page, but I think most of you have been using it for picture storage only anyway.

The good new is the new software supports the following:
-Same user name/password as our forums.
-Automatic image resizing and thumbnails
-Ability to browse everyone's photos.
-Ability to rate others photos
-Ability to comment on others photos
-Ability for me to set multi-tiered limits on disk space usage
(This means you won't be limited to a set number of photos and if you size them wisely you can cram more into your account).

This is just to name a few of the features. Now you might ask, "Is free picture hosting going away?", and my answer is no, however there may be a multi-tiered system, whereby if you want more than the default minimum of storage you pay a yearly fee for example.

We may also keep the old gallery system in place for those businesses that do not have an existing website and need an easy way to create one. Then we can sell them advertising :)

Steve, This is great news. As you may have noticed I get a kick out of posting pictures and This will be quite a improvment over the old setup.
Hope it all works out and becomes reality soon.
Thanks for continually improving this site for us all.

Well we are trying. This script will be awesome if it works. The problem is that I am having some trouble verifying that it will indeed work on our server before I buy it. I don't want to buy it and be stuck with a script that doesn't work. I know some of you will be frustrated because you set up a picture gallery with our current script and will need to do it again, but believe me you will thank me for this change. It took us 3 or 4 bulletin boards before we settled on this one and it has taken us a couple of trys with the picture gallery as well.

The new software has now been verified to work on our server and has been purchased. Hopefully I can start playing with it tonight.
