I head North for opening day. Wednesday night, I take my pick-up load of corn and beets and dump them 40 yards from my stand. I'm already feeling the urge to hunt, so I decide to use my new 1 million cp spot light instead of waiting til' first light. About 5 AM I hear a grunt coming from the south, my adrenaline is starting to make me sweat the case of beer out. I raise my 30-06 and look for the brown. There it is 30 yards away. I begin unloading hoping atleast one shot will injure it, so I can deliver a fatal shot later. After shooting 5 times, it's front legs are broke, so I reload and take aim shooting another three rounds until it lay motionless. Some make think this wastes a lot of meat, but atleast I dont have to track it.
So I load my button buck onto my four wheelers rack and head back to camp. I decided I didnt want to tag this deer, because he was too small, so I butchered him up that afternoon.
I head out again to hunt my mound of bait. That night I shot 15 times, killing another two bucks. I got a 4 point and a 3 point. Some again make find this illegal, but I let my sister tag the three point.
Im now down to one buck tag. I head out on my quad, because I dont feel like sitting. I do a drive with my 12 gauge loaded with buck shot. A massive 10 point jumps up running for his life. He is no match for 5 rounds of bucks shot though. I fire 5 times hitting him a couple of times. He continued to run across an open bean field, so I reloaded and took chase. I finally caught up and unloaded again dropping him in 10 shots total. I am very proud of this deer, he's the biggest Ive took to this date.
Well since I was out of tags, I decided to visit my local co's office. I gave him a lie of a sob story, and told him I lost my restricted tag. He believed me and gave me another one.
The final day at camp, I shot a spike. I tried practicing what others told me " aim carefully and take a single shot". Well I did that and I couldnt find the deer that night. The followning morning I found my 3" spike horn already feasted upon by wolves. So I cut out the backstraps and cut off his horns.
I had to head home, so I gave my extra license to my brother, who hopefully will be able to fill it tonight.
What a weekend, and some great hunting, I hope you all enjoy reading my story.

A completely idiotic, obviously fictional post that has absolutely no purpose on this forum. I'm pissed off I even read the whole thing.

This is just a story summing up what some people think hunting is.
I can tell its all fiction,,,,,,,, well to some it might not be. I have heard of real stories like this.

I dont know what I am supposed to say about how this thread effects the site, or how it is just ammo for the antis, but I found it rather humorous. However, at the same time it makes you think about how true much of it is in many deer camps across the state. This is in a nutshell why I dislike gun hunting in MI. I no longer venture north to hunt the rifle opener at my granpa's 90 in Gladwin because of people like this. Instead in the past few years I have gravitated toward bowhunting and muzzledloading. I for one enjoy the sollitude of the woods and enjoy seeing deer in their natural travel patterns and this is not something I can do when every redneck in MI is either sitting over a 3' tall pile of bait, or ripping around on his quad firing at anything that moves. It seems to me that Brianroy like many of us is just pi$$ed off and is venting in a place where he might find a few supporters. It is not my place to say how appropriate it is. I personally have not been around enough to say that I have seen what deer hunting used to be, what it has become and where it is going, but it seems to me that michiganders are starting to do a little better. I have read the posts where people are saying that it seems like there are less smaller bucks hanging this year and I know a number of people, myself included that have made a commitment to never shoot another 1 1/2 year old buck. I just heard from a buddy that his uncle who owns 100 up in the thumb is starting QDM this year, as are all of his adjoining neighbors. It seems to me that more and more people are catching on, and sharing the satisfaction they get from letting the little guys walk, as well as their enthusiasm for the sport as it should be, one that maintains a healthy, balanced deer population where deer have a chance to grow to maturity. I can only hope that I am right, because these are the people with the right attitudes and the ones that will preserve the sport. There will always be violaters, I just hope that they stay in the minority.

Must have been hunting by Baldwin. Hell all the deer up in that area walk around with sun glasses on from all the spotlight poachers............just a normal week in the Baldwin area, starting around the 4th of July.

;) I find it amazing that on your trip hunting with your quad you didn`t come across any fallen deer that you could steal because you are actually the hunter who made the fatal shot:D

Brian, I didn't think you'd do it but you had me laughing out loud. You're getting a few extra hours on your paycheck this week.
And for those of you who believe a joke story like this is "fuel for the anti's"...it's a lot less worse than the guys I saw drive into the processors the other night with 16 legs sticking up out of the back of the their truck- 2 button bucks & 2 spikes. My wife (who doesn't hunt) asked...why would you shoot a deer the size of a dog? My reply...because it's Michigan & it's allowed.:dizzy:

I aim to please.
Well my brother just called. He also had a very successful day today. This morning he woke up, and drank a fith of vodka to stay warm. It was a blustery 25 degrees. On his way out he saw a white tail and began to unload his 270. He shot a huge 200# doe full of milk. Nearby its FAWN! still in spots cried out. I sure hope he survives to turn into a yearling, so next year he can be a meal on my table.
And he also shot a fork horn over the remaining 200 pounds of bait I had out. He tagged it with my tag, so I am offically all tagged out.
What a way to end the season.;)

Lol, take it easy there feller. I would tell you if you read something that seems too dumb to be true it probably isnt, but sadly all too often it is. Either way this post was in fact a joke.

This coming from a guy who's only 18 and has possibly posted the stupidest post I've ever read on this site.
P.S. I've read most the huting posts and the reality of it is, is that, no, most of your scenarios have not been posted on here this year as you claim.
But seeing how you've made that claim as your justification for posting such a stupid thread in the deer hunting forum (instead of in the sound off Jokes forum) maybe you can posts these quotes and links that you claim came from here.

Something about this thread has ran it's course comes to mind.....
I know you're joking, but I don't think we need this kind of fuel for the anti's fire. We do enough defending of our sport and don't need this kind of nonsense on a "michigan-sportsman" site. Some yahoo will find it and take it seriously....

Is this the sequel to your thread last year about how you used doves for target practice? Whatever happened with that anyways?
