I was in my stand by 6:30ish this morning and at around 7:00 I seen the first deer killed. It was a doe that was hit by a Semi as it ran across the highway. The second was around 7:15. I watched it come across the on ramp and was going to jump the fence on to my land when a car started down the ramp. The deer turned and tried to run back across the ramp but met up with the car half way and there she laid. The guy in the car never stopped or slowed down just kept on going. My wife just called me and told me about the third one that was hit on the other side of the highway around 8:30 when she was heading back to the school. That brings the total to 7 deer in the last 13 days. (1) 9 point, (1) 6 point, (4) does and (1) that I have not checked what it is yet.

Oh!!!! The only deer I seen in my stand this morning were the 2 does that get hit.

I thinking you had a great day--- you did not fall out of the stand, you found the stand, and you found your way home with nothing broke.

In your world, I think thats a GREAT DAY!!

So, what happend to all that venison? Man, if this happens every year so close to your house, you should have about 5 freezers in the garage.

Seriously, that is a bummer. Watching all these deer get killed like this and nothing "makes it" to your stand must be frustrating.

Hey where abouts are you located. I have not seen nothing in the woods since opening day of bow when I got my 9 point. Maybe I would have better luck in my truck doing 70 down the highway near your stand. I hit 2 last year near my house. The first one I hit on my way home at about 830 in the evening and the second one was on my way to work the next day at 530am during gun season I have better luck in my warm truck. By the way no damage done to my truck besides 2 little dents in my front bumber and both deer went to my freezer.

The one nice thing about hunting next to a highway is that most cars will honk their horn if a deer is pressent on the road which gives me a good warning to keep an eye open along the highway.
