I do know there have been some guys out in the mornings as I have heard the guns shots fishing in the am. Does not seem to be on fire or anything but they are probably getting a few.

Well ... Thanksgiving weekend WestLake and I drove 30mi to walleye fish Muskegon ... instead of 1/2 mile to Fremont. 'Nuff said.

So, is there any ice, even skim ice, on the lake??

How much snow on the ground. Might not be worth fishing the lake but maybe a trip to one of the river banks might be worthwhile if the water drops some more.

Alex I stopped by the north launch today around 1PM. There was no ice period that I could see. The dock was out and a little snow had been left infront of the launch by the plow truck. Looked pretty soft and mushy and I think a person wouldn't have a problem backing thru it if they wanted to launch a boat. Based upon the snow in front of the launch it appears that no one has been in the lake at that launch for quite a while, at least since the snow.

Not a person on the lake that I seen. Looked fairly calm and I was wishing I had my boat instead of it being in storage................

Alex - I have some traps out north of the CCC camp, west of Minnie pond. I thought was gonna have to snoeshow in (had not been there in two days) but I had no problems driving back on the 2-track. We got a bunch of powdery snow the other night ... but it settle to just a couple inches (on top of what we had already). Not sure which road/where your cabin is ... but doubt you'd have trouble getting anywhere you want to go.

Looking at a radar site and it seems that the heaviest is going to miss the cabin area for the immediate future. More snow falling in Fremont than in the corner of the county with the cabin.

Based on what you guys have mentioned and with this weekends weather it looks like some snake fishing might be in order and maybe a walk down to the river if the water is down enough.
