Just curious how many of you die-hard steelheaders reside in Northern MI?

Maybe I should elaborate. I'm interested in doing a clean-up on a river once this crappy snow melts. Specifically, the Boyne. I know there's enough junk from the salmon run to make it worth while.

When I used to live in Grayling I fished the Boyne regularly. Its no different from a lot of streams where some uncaring fisherman would blatantly snag with weights and trebles right from the bridge and would leave their garbage all over the place. I personnally would go back to the truck after fishing, grab a couple of bags and start picking up garbage. One time I filled three 20 gallon bags full and took them home. You're efforts are well appreciated gentlemen. I thank you because no one thanked me. Its a little far away for me nowadays to fish but now I find myself doing that very same thing on other streams. Its part of a deep felt care for the streams. Hats off to you.

Thanks for the replies. You're absolutely right about the snagging and crap that goes on. Most of 'em never hit a river until it's loaded with salmon or steelies for that matter. The dirtbags hide coffee cans with their rigs behind logs - it's really blatant. They don't even wait 'til it's dark anymore. Anyways, my buds and I try to pick up everytime we're there. Just thought it would be cool to see if anyone else would be willing to lend a hand. The way this weather's going (it's been snowing here for 3 days), it'll probably be sometime early May before we can get out there to clean it up right. But, by then early blacks (morels) might be up & maybe some early bug hatches. Blind-folds will be mandatory (hee-hee).
