Took the boys to Omer sucker fishing Friday, nothing going on.. very few fish being caught with most of these being small males.. checked several spots to no avail. Decided to try the small pier at Augres , caught a couple nice perch but nothing else going on. Seen a few walleye caught at the mouth of the river but everyone had the same story ....nothing biting.. Went up to Tawas just looking, was amazed at the amount of slush/drift ice that was still left in the bay,( 1/4 to 1/2 mile in places). Some browns were being caught at the pier in tawas but things were generaly slow. Singing bridge ,they were catching a occasional brown surf fishing between ice packs , nothing hot and heavy.. about a nother week or so should be good.
Omerjim , sorry we didn't meet up on the river but I had three boys that were wanting fish so i had to keep them looking before they lost interest...maybe next weekend.. tight lines
