BRING ON THE ICE
I've been getting gear ready for ice fishing:D and I'm curious on what some of you use to carry your fishing lures in.
I carry a child's size flip top tackle box, but the lures fly all over the place in the box.
:help: Need something different, any suggestions?

Try lining the bottom of it with a magnet that has adhesive backing. Word of caution -- don't buy the kind that comes in a roll, purchase flat strips.

i use a backpack year round. i but them at dollar stores for like $5. all my tackle is seperated into species boxes (boxes are those clear plano boxes), like bass, trout, lake erie, etc.
then for ice fishing i have two small plano plastic jig boxes and one regular size plastic box for bigger jigs like spoons and vibees and jigging raps.
whenever i go fishing i take whatever box or boxes i need and put them in the backpack.
i also have a small box that has stuff i always need like an eye-buster, hooks, some sinkers, etc.
its a good system and i like it. wear your tackle box instead of carrying it. its especially good for bass fishing when you want to walk the shoreline of a lake.

I use flyboxes for all panfish jigs now. totally organized by style, size, and color. spoons and other larger baits I still keep in other kinds of boxes.

I have a cooler bag that I got for free when I signed up for a checking account at a bank. Inside I put two Plano 3414 double-sided tackle boxes, my HT Ice spikes, hand and foot warmers, HT folding rod holder, pliers, my jars of Berkley Honey Worms, digital camera, HT ice mitts and two 1lb propane cylinders for my Mr. Buddy heater. I've been going from store-to-store trying to find the Plano 3380 tackle bag. Wal-mart and Farm and Fleet don't carry it and you can't buy it from Plano on-line.

This is what I've done for a while. Works like a charm.

:evilsmile I use a smaller plastic box with the magnet (flat) in the bottom . Unbelieveable how well this works. But I also carry a fly box for tear drops so I can organize them according to color and weather or not they glow and such and such.

I use plano boxes(all different sizes) and cut little squares of cardboard and put the hook threw the cardboard. it can be a pain some times but works great becuase u can size the cardboard to the section in the tackle box where they wont flop around.

Sounds weird but i use a pistol case. You know how they have the foam egg sheeting in them? Well i just hook all my jigs into that. Works really nice for me. Quick, simple and easy. I use both half's to and i never get any of the jigs stuck on eachother.

There are lots of small Plano boxes to choose from. I have them set up for crappie, walleye, perch and gills.

This is the front of my Tackle Box. The Blue foam is from an exercise pad at Wal-Mart. Works great to keep my jigs in place. Just cut to fit with Scissors.

I use a soft side tackle box from Gander Mountain with the seperate plastic (Plano style) boxes inside. Have flash lures in one box, swimming lures in another , etc.. Plus I bought a nice flybox from Cabela's that has seperate compartments inside that each have their own lid. This box is easily carried in a pocket and I can keep a nice selection of lures, both flash and swimming, plus all the terminal tackle and jigs that I want.

I use the foam filled fly boxes from Cabelas around 7-8 bucks! These will fit nicely in your pocket if your hole hopping. I have a Plano tackle bag with two of the clear boxes and i put the 5-6 fly boxes in the plano bag on top of the clear boxes. All of the side pockets are cramed full line, plastics ect.

I picked this up at Wal-mart a few years ago for cheap, about 9 bucks. I was tired of having more than one plano box bouncing around. I don't know how I lived without it. Works great on the boat too.
Carries everthing and the kitchen sink, and still fits easily into a 5 gallon bucket.
