View Full Version : Whats in your tackle box?
Kind of a different thread to get started just wondering what things are in your tackle box that bring back some memories ( yea I'm bored).
For me I have a Red Eye Wiggler fulll of rust that reminds me of the days fishing with my grandpa for northerns in the up. He's been gone well over ten years now but I can't seem to throw that thing out.

Several crank baits that have NEVER caught a fish.
... these darn credit card companies want to know what's in my wallet...
... and now you want to know what's in my tackle box????
Can't a guy get any privacy anymore? :yikes:

I've got an old Daredevile perch colored spoon that is missing the hook. It had a single hook on it and was a killer on Pike! The hook broke off years ago and I keep telling myself i'm gonna fix it! Even broken, it brings back a lot of great memories!:D
I would have to know water I was going to fish, I have boxs for rivers, lakes and from shore. I have boxes I picked up 5 to 10 years I have not looked into from the time I picked them up. Got into one last month that was full of brand new stuf from the 1980's.

Lets see...
-Some 1/0 off set hooks and bullet weights that I thought I'd use when the whole Texas rig fad came around. Never did that well with it.
-A brass knot tyer that I never did figure out how to use.
-Two Panther martin spinners. There is only two because I lost a dozen or so in the rocks. They work but I just can't help but get snagged with 'em.
-An Erie Dearie that I found fishing the Huron near Dexter.
-1 medium Jitterbug that I took to work and painted. Olive Green metallic on top and white pearl on the belly. Why Arboghast never offered this color combo is beyond me. It works!
The rest is boring everyday stuff. Rapalas, tubes, roostertails, spinnerbaits, etc.
Nothing sentimental.
Oh yeah, almost forgot. TP :p

Which box? Perch box? Walleye box? trolling box? The new Handline box? The Fly-In Canada box?
My son, MuskyHunter, has a bunch of his Grandfather's stuff in his box. Doesn't use it, just carries it around. Can't believe it's been seven years since my Dad died. We just looked in Dad's box on Sunday. Still a few things sitting in there. There's a Silver Minnow with my Mother's name engraved on it. Some day we'll take it up to Kaby Lake and "lose" that one near where my son lost the one with my Dad's name on it.

My tackle box is full of water last I checked, nothing of real value in it any way. My tackle and lures are divided up into individual cases. I usually just move everything I want for that trip in one case. Note, if you dont know if your tackle box is water proof dont leave it outside.

I still carry the Diamond king metallic superman spoon that I caught my first salmon from a boat with 7 years ago. It still goes in the water once in a while. Haven't caught a fish on it in 3 years though.

Not counting the smaller & species specific tackle boxes (Most of that stuff is new);
A dozen or so early musky/pike hand me down spoons from my great grandfather (I am 67, so they are indeed long in the tooth). Hardly ever used, as they have too much sentimental value. Besides, some of them are handmade & irreplaceable.
Just cannot force myself to leave them out.

I have a rattle trap that a 40+" Northern ripped both trebles right out of the bait.
