These boards and other similar sites in MI are full of threads whose topic is finger pointing over this week's failure of Prop3. Lamentations, remorse, the blame game, finger pointing, have gone on and will, in the circles too many people travel within (the use of "circles" is meant as a pointed pun) and we need to learn and move on.

Here's a few underused links right here in MS' boards that might get us off the bitch and moan posts and into a more effective direction.........or..........we could sit at our computers and continue to play the all too wearying Blame Game.

I'd invite you to browse through these links and look into what they offer, giving more than mere lip and/or eye service to them and others that offer more than an opportunity to vent and rant.

They are a start and only a start. The longer we just sit back venting and ranting the weaker we get. It's time to move on to more effective methods of taking care of business.

IMO --- Being that it is less than 30 hours since it was known we were going to lose, the bitch and moan posts and the venting and ranting are probably acceptable for the "moment". However if it continues on incessently and shows signs of morphing into a catalyst for negativity and division, then yes indeed, cease.

To learn from our mistakes, we must recognize them, document what they are and how they affected us, then work towards methods to prevent them from being repeated.

Now I'm gonna post something on that first link.

I think you're right. The ranting is natural. I just hope the anger is channeled into doing something productive afterwards.

I'm not sure anyone realizes how much was lost in this election..a lot more than the dove issue. Some very good legislators lost their seats. The Speaker of the House is now a Democrat and controls what legislation gets hearings or gets out on the floor.

As far as the US? Decimated.

Hunters and sport shooters need to get together now, folks. We can't afford to stay divided.

I for one, never pointed fingers at anyone, although I heard some people say they thought they did more than others. In my comments, I tried pointing out causes for the loss Tuesday. I'm starting a little self-started campaign to inform all my non-hunting friends what happened and why.
IT'S NOT WEAPONS THAT WINS WARS, IT'S INFORMATION.

Would it be possible to get a list of organizations with addresses posted so people would know what and where to donate to? I think this may have been part of the cause for the loss.

I've got to agree with this too.

The hunting community needs to learn what caused Prop 3 to be defeated. That means studying the opposition. It seems clear that they were much better at getting their message out. They understand the media and know how to use it. They also targeted and contacted the undecideds in much greater numbers than the pro Prop 3 people did.

People may think that the antis are stupid, wrong headed or just plain evil, but the fact is they did succeed in their goal. The only way to beat them next time is to understand how they did it.

They have multimillion dollar sponsors who can hand out donations of $500k at a time. We're mostly working people who can put in a few bucks here and there. We have to understand that and act accordingly.
