any lawyers out there. i heard on the radio that some pro affirmative action group is going to sue to stop the ban from taking effect. why cant we do this with proposal three. if i remember right a few years ago proposal g gave the natural resources commision complete controll over management of our game species and the setting of hunting seasons & regulations for those game species. if this is correct then the sportsman of michigan should be able to sue the government for ever letting go to the ballot and force them to allow a dove season. maybe im wrong i dont know for sure if i am let me know.

I think the reason proposal G didn't cover the dove issue is because doves aren't listed in MI as a game species. Proposal G gave the DNR the right to manage MI "game" species. The first step is to get them listed as a game specie.

That's kind of weird considering that you can't sue a law into place. I'm extremely disappointed in proposal 3 not passing, but aren't there already enough lawyers trying to run the world the way they see things should be fit?? I would like to see something happen about the dove hunting though. It would be nice to give a blow back to the anti's.

Public act 160 changed the status of mourning doves to gamebirds. It was overturned yesterday in the proposition 3 vote.

How about we try and promote better management of the many game species we already have, allowing them to flourish and making it unnecessary to expose us to another loss. Just a thought.
Are you saying a dove hunt would have been mismanaged or that the DNR is mismanaging other wildlife? What loss are you expecting from mismanagement?

Which ones are not flourishing?? Is it because of poor management??

I guess I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.

Any challenges to Prop 2 are going almost certainly going to be based on constitutional infringements. (either State of Michigan or U.S.)
It doesn't appear that there are any constitutional challenges with Proposal 3.

if we were not willing to donate enough money to match the antis on this then who would pay for a lawyer to sue
