Ok, I'm on a roll this morning..I'm kind of ticked off by the whole thing yesterday..we need to get moving now if we're going to make gains back. I posted this on another board, but figured I'd post it here, too.

Ok, my sales abilities suck and I'm a lot better at working than selling things but here goes:

Please join SAFR. We have a ton of work to do, as you can see. A LOT of pro-gunners got their asses handed to them and we are going to HAVE to make it up. Unless gunnies, and hunters, get it together and work together and actually pay attention, we're going to keep losing. We can get back there, but its going to take more walk, starting right now, and less talk.

Anyway, the address is www.firearmsalliance.org. Those of you who are members know we do a lot of good stuff..put together great gun ratings for candidates, legislative stuff, we got the AG opinion on whether or not localities can make you pay for purchase permits, we put on a big kids event each year, we just got an Eddie Eagle costume for the Hillsdale County Sheriff's Department so they can teach the course to all the kids in their county, etc.

Our current project is holding these places charging fees and creating waiting periods to the law and we've got a lawyer working on it, but it takes money.

The fee for joining SAFR isn't a more than a box of ammo.

Plus, hell, now that the election is over, I have plenty of time to do membership cards.

For those of you here, I'd point out that the gunnies over there provided about 1/2 the manpower for the table at Cabelas and many of them don't even hunt..they just understand that we all need to stick together or we're all going to lose.

I gotta go to my day job now. :)

And if you don't want to join "another group" just send the money. And make sure to stay up-to-date on what SAFR is doing for YOU in Lansing.

And, join local hunting, fishing, and gun clubs. Join them and become active in them and get them up and off their butts. Many club leaderships seemed to have been apathetic or had their heads stuck in the sands on this.

Look at all the fishing clubs out there that beleive that fishing is not one of the targets of the HSUS and other animal rights zealots. To top it off I do not doubt that a large percentage of the members of fishing clubs are also hunters.

Maybe they feel that they can hide from the issue by saying that they belong to a fishing club.
