just heard on woodtv 8 (grand rapids) that 3 & 5 look to be defeated. a sad day to say the least.
as far as the church asking everyone to vote no, that is some BS!! i'd make sure never to step foot in that place again.

I would make it clear to anyone that voted against this that they may want to remember this day when they need my support for something.
Since Michigan makes it so easy, I would like to suggest a petition drive for 2008 asking for a State constitutional amendment which transfers the power to declare game species and seasons to the DNR. After all, they are the professionals, not the Legislature nor the special interest groups.
If that is not supported, then why do have a DNR or even a Legislature??

Did they say that in the service? because if they did that can be seen as a big no-no concerneing no-profit status.
Sounds like her church needs to create a sportsman club like ours has!

Comments based on early results at time of posting
We were outspent FIVE to ONE
We fight amongst one another instead of together against a determined enemy
We sat on our butts too long waiting for someone to take action
Very little was done on our behalf until the home stretch
We let the enemy control the campaign.
What should we expect ?
Let's just hope we have learned a lesson.
Sportsmen need to take the following to heart.

A "lady freind" of my dad said that the church she goes to in downtown Grand Rapids was preaching about impeaching Bush. WHAT????? I'm sorry, but if you're going to enjoy that non-profit tax free status, you best keep mum on politics, all politics.

I agree, being heavily involved in church, church should stay out of politics, at least from the pulpit.

That's kind of odd considering that God doesn't care what you kill as long as you eat it. I would go somewhere else too.

A good question considering all the support for prop 1 and prop 5, as well as all the support historically for mandatory minimum sentencing - all of which take away legitimate power of elected officials.
