The "cute" owl post made me print this.
First of all a 3 point buck decided to use my 20" skybox delux ladder stand to polish hi antlers. Little guy was really putting his shoulders into it. Had me rocking I was about ready to shoot in self defense.
Second I was in the same ladder before daylight. As the skyline turned a lighter blue I decided it was time to get ready the rest of the way. Zipped up coat quietly, placed armguard (velcro adjustable) quietly as I could. adjusted wrist closure (more velcro) and added my shooting glove( I don't use a mechanical release). Good all done and quiet...so I thought.
Time ti wipe nose from the cold so out comes the snot rag, wipe nose... blow softly so I don't alert anything more wiping....I don't know why buit something made me look up slightly and there it was about 3 or 4 feet away...A Huge owl with wings set on a dive. :yikes: I turned inside out trying to block my face with my arms. The owl decided I was NOT fair game as also was turing inside out trying to get away. The owl still hit me but not with the talons. Man was I wide awake and pumped after this. I mean this thing looked huge at the time. I mean like Pterodactyl if thats the correct spelling. I'm sure was a great horned from what little I saw.
Additional note. This is my thrid owl attack. I still bare a scar over my left eyebrow from one. I was cut pretty badly from it. so watch out for the cute owls.
