Not sure where to post this but here goes. Can anyone tell me the weight capacity or roughly what a two place snowmobile trailer can haul ? It has the small whells and we need to transport 2 full size quads 150 mi. Anyone that has any knowledge of these trailers please post or pm me . Thanks, Mike
ps, I think the trailer is 6x8.

Maybe you or someone could find out the weight of one snowmobile, multiply it by 2 and add a couple hundred pounds. But it seems if it hauls 2 snowmobiles it should handle 2 quads. Good luck.

Look at the capacity of the tire. If it says 1560 lbs max, you figure it will 3120 lbs safely......ie. 1560 x 2ea tires = 3120. Is it aluminum trailer?

some tires will support more weight than the trailer itself. specially a cheap 2 person quad trail

my aluminum 2 place one says on the data plate 2000 lb cap. I would not go by tire cap go by axle rating my tires say 1780 max that is on each tire
We took 2 quads out to Wyoming and back on an open snowmobile trailer with no problems. We always bring extra bearings and races just in case. I would make sure you have reccommended tire inflation and greased bearings, then hit the road!

look at the toungue of the trailer. it should have a "max load" rating either stamped into the metal, or a plate. If it was a homemade jobby, look at the spindles/axle combo. Most light duty trailer axles are rated for 1300lbs (straight spindles). If the spindles have two different sized bearings ((tapered spindles) (1 1/16" outer and 1 1/4" inner)) I would guess that it is at least a 3000 lbs capacity axle.

This trailer has a sq. steel tubing frame. Looks to be 1 1/4 " sq. light wall stuff, not too heavy duty. I will check the load cap on the tires. Just don't want 10 grand worth of quads spread on the road. Thanks, Mike
ps, I'm looking for a trailer, anyone ?
