There are 2 yellow markers, past the shipping channel (buoy 31-32), just inside Canadian waters. They are in 18fow and run east west. Has anyone else seen these and what are they?

I've seen them also on 2 runs to Canada aboard In Cahoots. I don't think John knew what they were for either. I remember they were not very big & didn't appear to have any markings that were easily visible.

I think they are fish net bouys, I have seen small boats in that area pulling up nets.

The one in Canada out from Can #28 this Fall, looked to be net buoys. MNR or Indians? I saw the same type of Yellow marker in the Det river On the American side down river of Angle park/ up river from Belle Isle. It's a single marker so I'm unsure if its a net marker. I know the DNR has been doing sturgeon studies in that area?

Ed, those are the markers, by #28. I'm always watching for stuff like that because I know the Indians do go out of their area, plus I've heard they are not as easy to spot, unlike the yellow stakes.

Yes FF those markers looked like net markers. about 100' to 150' apart, straight line. the same type of markers the dnr uses around the sturgeon hole.

mushy 1 We worked for our fish but ended up with a nice cooler of clean looking walleye, most females. hot lure was of all things, black with yellow dots? go figure. I put it on and my buddy smirked. It didn't take him to many fish in the cooler for him to change up.

I do not believe these are markers are for nets. Thinking they are for weather observations, currents, etc. They are both lighted with white lights, and are shown on my chartplotter software, too. Atleast the Garmin blue charts, anyways, Does not say what they are, but...

...we have trolled thru, between and around the double yellows for 3 years now, while muskie trolling. Running from top to bottom with lures, and never hooked a net. (not that we were trying to)...

Have hooked a plenty of NETS in the basset area and also ST Lukes. Look out for 20oz pop bottles and sticks in the water. Usually if you see these two about 100ft apart in combination.....bad things soon happen.

But does always, get those level winds barking... SUCKS!
