Does anyone know of any good places to get this done and how much something like this would cost?
I have a Remington 7400 .270 that needs it done...
Thanks...

Gander Mt. lists it as one of thier services, however I'd ask for references as they usually sub that service out.
I have used Williams Gun Sight and Dick Williams in Saginaw. I would reccomend Dick Williams. Good guys there.

Have you considered a finish more durable than bluing?

Actually no.. Not really to versed on finishes for guns I guess... I just know my current blueing is jacked with even some rust on the barrel.. Was pretty pissed when I took it outta the case this weekend.. But I really have no one to blame but myself either...
Being your Clinton Twp. try M & R Arms on south gratiot just north of Harrington. I have had two shotgun barrels done by them. They do not reblue but used their diamondkote finish.
web link should be : www.mrarms.com (http://www.mrarms.com)

From long, sad experience I prefer almost any finish rather than bluing on my guns, most of which aren't safe queens. I'm not fond of nickel either, but parkerizing, paint, etc beat bluing for me.
I painted my FAL with black grill paint and it looks fabulous. Still rust-free too.

I'm in the same boat... I've got a Rem 1100 410 that was improperly stored in a safe. I called shooter's services in Livonia and they said they send it out: $100 for the barrel... i didn't get the price on the receiver. I've never heard of Parkerizing and the lot... any good info out there?
