What a beautiful night out there tonight......wind was down.......warmer temps.......we had to struggle to put 8 in the box!!! They just would not turn on tonight!!! sounded like everyone else had the same problem!! I fished with Paul driggers tonight......the one thing he did catch was himself!!! OUCH!! Two of the 3 hooks on a treble embedid in his finger......Dr. Houghtonlaker had to remove the hook with his trusty needlenose!!! That finger will be sore for a while!!! No real hot colors.....I caught most off a custom painted #9 black top chrome body coverd in small orange dots!.........and also my trusty #7 Orange and gold Rapala!! Pauls hot lure seemed to be his blue and silver Yozuri minnow!! Nice to my fellow MS members out there....Hotwired and Fisheater.....would have talked a little more if my radio didn't go dead!! I may be back out tonight...Haven't decided yet!!

Sure did turn into a beautiful moonlit sky.
We managed to put 9 in the box on a mixture of different colored raps and Z's.
Will be back out tonight weather permitting.

Yeah it was a very slow night. Surprised too, cuz it was such a beautiful night out there. Flat as could be. We only got 4. Nice 19-20 inch healthy fish. 1 on a Hot Steel and the other 3 on Vampire. Be back out again soon.:)

I finally made it out there last night. Started out slow, but got my limit between 8 and 10pm. First four on gold and black, switched to purple prism for the last two.
Sounds like it was a stuggle for most last night. Met fisheater and a buddy last night at the launch. Nice to put a face to some of the names here. Well only managed to boat two. Had another one on and got lazy and tried to grab it instead of netting it and it flipped off by the boat. Oh well, one less fish to have to clean when getting home late.

You guys are die hards! I haven't night fished for Walleyes in years but it used to be quite productive. I have tomorrow off work, should I drag wire and bounce jigs, go Perchin or drag those big Muskie baits around. Decisions decisions :)

Curt,
Good to see you posting again. Haven't talked in a while, but sounds like you didn't leave the river much this year, eh?

had to help my brother process his 5 point buck he shot Wed by Pine Knob. Going to drop it off at Gummbetters 11 mile to get mounted. A very nice rack for a 5 pointer. Also Sunday I smoked 12 walleye to make more of that awesome smoked fish dip.
1 lb. Smoked Fish (cleaned & de-boned)
1 lb. Cream Cheese
4 tbsp. Sour Cream
2 tbsp. Mayonnaise
2 tsp. Tabasco
2 cloves Garlic (minced)
½ cup Onion (finely chopped)
1 tsp. Pepper
½ tsp. Dill
2 pinch Paprika
Juice of one lemon (optional)
Mix all ingredients. Then add smoked fish. Mix again and chill for 1hr. (minimum)

This is a lot to ask but if i can make it work with my work schedule....Would any one need/want a ridder for thursday or friday night? I just bought a boat that i plan to fish the river with next year and would really like to learn how to hand line.

Nice job Dr. Houghton Laker! It's nice to know that the Crestliner has a board certified surgeon on board. Hope I never require your services. Hope you can still get me out there one more time before your craft gets hauled out, so far most of my promised trips have been cancelled due to rough conditions on the high seas. At this time of the year, the weather is a crapshoot.

I could have used the "good Doctor" several weeks ago when a point on a treble went into my thumb while the salmon was still attached to the other treble on the lure.
The point of the story is to have a good set of needlenose and angle-cut pliers on the boat or the tackle box.
