Can anybody help me further with this. I've been trying and trying to no avail:banghead3 I just can't seem to get it. I can change my avatar why not my photos? I've read the other help threads and I either get a message saying my file is too large or upload was successful but then can't find my picture. Can someone please point out what I'm doing wrong? Thanks:dizzy:

There are no photos in your galery or there would be a little green Icon underneath your location and join date, look at mine and click on the icon to see what I have uploaded.
first off if you just move your mouse to the photo you want and stop with out clicking it will show how big the photo is like 400 KB, it has to be resized by double clicking on it and most programs will take you to photo some thing, under edit go down to image size, click on that and a box will appear and show some thing like 1600 the top number and a lower number below that, if it shows 1600 click your arrow in that box to high light it and change the number to about 700, this will be close to the size limit for the site of 100 KB by changing the size of the photo, after loading you will see a My photos or album to the left and a little high, click on that and it will take you to what you loaded

You need to resize the image on your hard drive.

Don't crop. RESIZE! Open help in your PhotoShop if you need to. Nice fish!:)

I do not agree. Crop first and get rid of any extra portions of the photo that are not necessary. Then save the result under a new name. This way you can go back to the original if anything goes wrong.
If the new picture is still to large then downsize it. As the picture gets downsized it will lose something in quality. Not always noticable until size is cut to half of the original.
That is why I recommend the crop first. No lose of quality because the size of the remain part is still the same as it was in the original.
The tattoo is good and it is interesting. Not for me but it certainly is better than some of the stuff I have seen.

Crop to edit is one thing. Crop to reduce file size is another. But that's me.

Yes, but the crop for editing should come first. The side benefit is that it will reduce file size without distorting the remaining part of the image.

Microsoft has a great little program called Image Resizer. You can down load it here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
It eables you to right mouse click on an image and save it as a smaller image. Works really well.

One good suggestion I have is to always save any changes under a new file name. This way you will have the original to go back to if something goes wrong.
Example: the original file is "pa270153.jpg" and after some minor cropping I will save as: "pa270153-a.jpg". If I have to do any further work, such as resizing, then I will often change the "-a" to "-b" and then "-c" and so on.
I treat the original photo file just like a film photography negative.
