The county worker was chasing people off of the jetty at the 9 Mile Ramp. He said that since the city of SCS had closed the ramp then the county was going to close off all access until spring.
I know that this will upset some of the people that go out there all fall and then might go ice fishing when the ice moves in. It is a good spot for Pike on tip-ups but according to this worker no more fishing there until April or whenever the city opens it back up.

i doubt they will have someone there all the time. it would be a huge waste of tax $$$ if they did. more than likely, it was just because he was there at the time doing something, and we will still be able to use it throughout the season.
i never heard about people getting pike there, but did hear that the canal is good for crappie. anyone know anything about this?

"ficious",
Yes, I was there when you got run off.
After talking to the maintenance man, who was with Macomb County, it seems that the decision to close it is a county matter and not the city. And, the county workers will be on the look-out for anyone trying to fish.

So then is the gate closed and locked next to the building where you walk through to the back/lake side of the building??

Don't know. After "ficious" and his crew left the county worker stopped us and refused to let us go any further than the parking lot.
The gate to the lot is closed and locked. Beyond that I do not know at this time.

I've always used this area to acsess the ice.
DNR was there this past spring/winter, when the ramp was closed. They told me I could fish the peir but I would have to walk back there. I parked @ fishbones or all the way down at the end of the street. A worker even told me to feel free and go back there. You can still get back there by walking along the seawall. Its a good place to run your dogs, in the winter only, come spring no dogs allowed.
