Did you see the VPG(Vetical Pixel Graph) on the Nature Vision DVD? The size of it looks awesome. Plus it has a heater for the LCD screen when it gets cold. I want one. Has anyone got one yet? I'd like to know how it works as soon as the ice cometh. It's only 40 here and raining. I hinted to the wife for a Christmas gift. :)

Are you talking about this one from Aqua-Vu?

If so, I was just at Bass Pro looking at it. I know everyone is loyal to their Vex's and Marcums, but this looks like a pretty nice unit. Has a 18 deg. transducer. Very nice padded case, very solid. Smaller size and lighter than Vexilar. I like the heated screen so there is not supposed to be any LCD slowdown on the ice. $229 is a lot more appealing to me than $300+ for a Vexilar too. I personally like the idea of a vertical graph better than the round screen, not that a Vex is hard to read.
I think they are new this year, so probably nobody has used one, right? Maybe I'll have to take one for the team!:D

In the Ice Fishing edition of "In-Fisherman", I noticed an advertisements for the VPG at $229 with free shipping. It was www.bobbershopfishing.com (http://www.bobbershopfishing.com) on page 19. It is also $229 at www.thornebros.com (http://www.thornebros.com). Also with free shipping on electronic items.

I'm a flasher guy. My choice is Marcum but a vex would be OK to. With all the cold weather that I fish in I need to use something I know is going to perform and not needing a heater to keep it running at the right speed.

I think this VPG looks great. But....I never buy anything the first year it comes out. Nature Vision is a great company, but I would give them a year to work out the bugs, it seems there are always bugs.
