In the process of getting my deer hunting equipment ready, I discovered my old Boy Scout compasses (I have 2) no longer point to the north. Last year they worked just fine. From the picture below you can see the good compass points one way and my old compass (on the right) has the needle with the "N" pointing to the south. The liquid inside is still OK and the needle consistantly wants to point to a specific direction but no longer to the north. Both compasses are about 40 years old and so I'm not surprised but I wonder if anyone else has had similar occurances? :)

Good to check one gainst the other. Does the one on the RIGHT point N?

It looks like the better of the 2. My Grandpa said when you start to doubt the compass you better follow it--and the more you doubt it the MORE you better follow it.
