If a guy wanted to try walleyes in the St Clair River, where would be a good place to launch a boat. 17' Lund. Thinking North channel, but receptive to anything all the way to Port Huron if there is a walleye available that eats jigs. Thanks

This time of years you can usually pick up some walleye jigging across from Deckers. Take Anchor Bay Drive to the end and you can launch at the DNR ramp at the end or at Deckers just before that. You can also pick up some nice size minnows at the bait shop just before Deckers.
Don't be afraid to fish deep 50-60fow with 1 oz jigs with stingers.
Hope this helps.

I second the motion for Deckers. Drifting down to Grassy. I heard from a fairly reliable source (IFN) they're killing'um. If that don't work you allways have the bay area to pick up a meal of perch fishing the weedbeds.

Thanks guys, I'll give it a shot tomorrow afternoon or Sunday. Anchor Bay Drive go into I94?? Sorry about the stupid questions, living in the Flint area moved from W. Michigan, so still trying to find my way around.

M-29 is the State Hwy that leads to Anchor Bay drive.
From Flint you could take I-69 to I-94 then to the Palms Rd./St. Clair Exit. Make a quick right from the ramp and go 300 ft to the stop sign at Palms. Turn Left going South on Palms a good +/- 15 miles to the dead end at M-29. Turn Left on M-29 and go about 3 miles. Anchor Bay drive is on your right. Party store/bait store at the corner.

Just keep in mind that Anchor Bay Drive is a 2 1/2 mile long residential street that ends at the boat launch on the North Channel. The speed limit is 25 mph.....and they run radar on it a lot (including the dark hours).....just watch your speedometer and you won't have any problem
