Just bought a Garmin Etrex, and I've read the entire manual, and tried to find an answer on their website, but no luck....is there a way to change the measurement units for distance? For instance the distance to a waypoint is listed in meters...can I change it to feet? Anybody have a quick answer?

Yep I've looked at that section in my manual. Three options...statute; nautical; or metric. I assumed "statute" would be the correct setting to get feet, so I believe that's where I set it, but I'm getting meters on the readout. Gotta check it when I get home tonight though, because it must be set to metric. Anyone else with a Etrex know if "statute" is the correct setting to get a readout in feet?

I have a Garmin Emap and it is set on statute and reads in miles.it may not have locked in when you set it

Statute is correct to read feet. I have the eTrex C and it's in setup/Units.
Change it there and you'll be fine.

Thanks everyone. Tested it last night and I think I have it set right now.
