These are my good luck charms. Been carrying the same stag bowie for years and keep a small container of holy water in my huntin box. Can't hurt. :)
Any good luck charms out there ?

Your full of good threads today.
I've had the same stocking hat since I started deer hunting. Whether I wear it or not, it always goes in the woods with me.

I've got a lucky sweat shirt I've worn since high school, as I've expanded the rips in the sides have allowed it to expand with me. When I saw the shirt Remnar wore in "Escanaba in the Moonlight" it kind or reminded me of myself.
Knda like Bigbear except mine is an old turtleneck shirt I've had for 15-16 years. It has absolutely no practical purpose because it's ripped, worn and threadbare. For the last 5 years I keep saying this is the last huntin' season for the ol' shirt and have planned to bury it in the woods. Can't get myself to do it - how silly!
Holy water - great idea! I do pray and really think the good Lord has an open ear to hunters. Tomorrow might be especially lucky. It's Nov 3 and I've taken the day off work to hunt ALL DAY. Nov 3rd is the feast day of St. Hubert. St. Hubert is the patron saint of hunters. It's supposed to be cold w/snow flurries in SE Mich. The rut is on. Can it get any better? John-Ypsi

An old Jones style camo hat that I had on when I shot my first bow kill deer 30 years ago and it's been with me for every bow kill since...

Great thread. I'm not normally too superstitious (sp?), but I have a few regular items that make the trip to camp, and one that makes it to the blind.
I always take a knife that my step dad gave me my first time to camp. The blade is thick enough to chop a tree down, and its heavy as heck, but it goes to camp every year, even though it has no practice purpose.
I have an old handwarmer that I bought at an army surplus store when I was a kid. I never use it, and it is missing the solid fuel sticks, but it goes up every year too.
The most important item that goes with me, is a little craft project that my oldest daughter made for me on her first day of kindergarten. Its a heart that is made out of little plastic beads, and its colored like a rainbow. I take in the woods, on business trips, or just about anytime that I'm away from my kids for more than a day.
I used to take an old wet stone too, but its been lost in the last couple of years. I probably left it up there somewhere.

I carry a weapon in the woods. And I practice alot in the off-season. Gun/bow/ ML, it makes no difference. I carry practiced skills in the woods.
