Was going out into the lake by the Blue Water Bridge last nite. got out on the river only to find the south wind was blowing a lot harder than i had hoped. Having my 14' boat, I was concerned about getting back. So I turned around and put it back on the trailer. A few other cars were at the lot, and I was wondering if they did any good (if they were on the lake). I have to think some of the fishermen werefrom this site. First and foremost I hope everyone had a safe trip back to the launch. Secondly, if you were out there,I hope you did well.

Once you are up there with the south wind it's smooth sailing since the water doesn't have a chance to build at the base of the lake- as I assume you know. However, you made the right call as coming back especially in the dark, this time of year with few boats out would have been the wrong call. I hope to get up there soon and will post if and when I do......

talked to a guy who fished the lake Mon. nite. He said he and a bud got 9, and his other buddies in another boat got their limit. He verified my fears about getting back against that south wind, said there were 3 footers on the river when he came in. Fished tuesday nite but only got one, lites went out on the boat, so I went in. The guy who told me about Mon. was out with a bud on tues. nite and got 7. They were working the coastgaurd station. Just a little after thought, there were only 2 other boats on the lake when I was there.

gonna keep trying the lake as long as the conditions are decent. keep hearing that Deckers is producing some fish, but my thoughts are why drive that far from my Lexington home when the lake is so much closer. As the saying goes, "never leave fish to find fish".
