If you see them and the price is good buy them! They are fairly light weight and easy to use shows bottom and shows the fish!

I just bought one this summer from a yard sale. paid like 10 bucks for it, played with it in the bathtub, seems to work just fine, my is not like the others i see though the numbers gor from 0 to 90 feet, the others i see only go to 30 or so, not sure what kind i got looked everywhere on the net for info but come up empty, if anyone has any info for these such as users manuals or anything like that send me a link please, but as far as how they work, for the money beat's buying a vex, sonar technology has not changed that dramaticly in the last so many years, so a green box will work just fine, shows the bottom and shows the fish and your jig, what more do you want.

These "green boxes" are great for run and gun type fishing!

I've been using one for the past several years. For the money they're great! I went online and found a 12V rechargable battery that fits in place of the two 6V lantern batteries. Lasts all weekend no problem. Its not as complex as a vex but it does show the depth with amazing accuracy, shows the depth of the fish when and were they're moving thru and with the money I saved over a vex/marcum/etc. I can afford to fishing and use it! :)
I started "collecting" them, have a few for sale. See the classifieds, if you do a search using "Lo-K-Tor" you find quite a few past threads on these.
