Have recently become addicted to fishing floats. I do not yet have a pin but use a 11' noodle rod and it works out well for me.

Now to the reason for the post. I just ordered some high quality plain jigs from PA lures, and am looking forward to tying up a few of mine own. I have some mini foo patterns that have been effective for me. But the hook end of the jigs are junk!! So I plan on tying a few similar patterns to match.

What have been some of you favorite jig patterns?? For the most part the black hair jigs have been best for me tipped w/ a waxie. I also have a very large selection of tying material, and plan on experimenting.

Anyways, Just wondering what works for you guys. Most of the time I run down to OHIO or PA. If anybody else runs down there let me know. Thinking about going SUN.

Go buck wild, most jig patterns will take fish and each has its own time. White and black feather/hair jigs are a mainstay but dont overlook yellow, chart, pink, and orange type feather jigs as well. A killer on pressured fish can be really drab colored small jigs that are all black or brown. A small jig with just a body of peacock hearl or gray/brown dubbing can be a good low water/ pressured fish jig.

Thanks, Havent got the jigs yet but have a few patterns in mind. It will be nice to be able to dress them the way I want. I know when i make my trips to ohio, and PA 1/32 gold head with black feathers are killer. when I get the jigs and tie a few up I'll put some pics up so you can tell me what you think.

You dont have to spend a lot of money or get real fancy IMO.
I use 1/64 oz ice fishing jigs with a small spawn bag with good success. You I use these with the regular shot patterns when using floats. I also just bought a cheap digital electronic scale on ebay to weigh the shots and jig to match the floats.
