I like to hunt rabbits best in february. I don't get very many but I sure like eating them. I like them best cut up and cooked in a frying pan.
I shot a snow shoe hare once up in the UP with my bow. We cooked it over our campfire on an arrow shaft with some barbeque sauce. Kinda ruined the arrow but the rabbit tasted good :)
Hope you get some this winter!

The best way I have ever had rabbit prepared was a "rabbit jumbalaya" sp I dont know how it was made but it was top notch! Im guessing just like regular jumbalaya but with rabbit added also.

My mother used to make a squirrel and rabbit stew. Excellent. She made homemade dumplings and put it together like chicken and dumplings.

Now days a crock pot works just fine. Cut up yard rats and rabbits and bone out and kind of shred meat and put in crock pot with 2 cans of mushroom soup and some onions and carrots and spices to taste. After about 8 hours in crock pot ladle over some homemade biscuits or dumplings, man o man nothing better.

Seems the rabbit and squirrel compliments each other without overpowering each other..................
