If I remember, the 4 is slightly smaller in cutting dia.
However, IN MY BOW, the 4 flew closer to field tips than the 3 and grouped better. I chose them for about 10 years. They worked well.

Correct the 4 blade has a slightly smaller Dia. and flys preety well while offering a an extra cuttign surface... i have used both 3-4 blade for yrs i didi notice though the 4 blade had issues with blazer vanes...... when i switched to a 4 inch vane feather the issue went away no biggee
I like them both use them both.... heck i even use the 75 grain 3 blade as well

I use 4 blade 130's and have tried 3 blade 125's ...I prefer the four blade I like the extra cutting surface....plus they seem to fly a little better for me...

I shoot the blazer vanes because of the wisker bisket. Any other option? 65#

Even though a slightly smaller cutting dia, I like the extra blade PLUS the 4 blades IMHO are much easier to assemble and sharpen. Those 3 blades just don't seem to go together easily with my fat fingers and almost 50 yr old eyes.:)

I really hope somebody looks at this...
I've got a related question, but didn't want to start a new thread about it.
I shoot about 50 pounds. I was wondering, at this poundage or heavier, since i'll be shootin 65 hopefully bynext season, if a four blade would decrease penetration? especially through bone? would the mx4 not have as much penetration as a normal 4-blade since it's shorter?
Thanks guys!

Most broad heads will work fine as long as they are sharp..3 or 4 blade. I like 100 gr. three blade. You don't want to hit bone if you can help it. No broad head will penetrate the shoulder blade.

My wife shoots 4 blades (I think 85 grain) at about 40-42 lbs and she's had 3 out of 4 pass throughs. It's really all about shot angle/placement and knowing your lethal range - probably 20-25 yards for her anyway.

3 blades 100 grain work great for me. Old PSE at about 65# with carbon arrows, when through rib and out the other side last year.

4-Blade 100grain---->whacked a doe last Sunday at 25 yards, she only went 75 yards and I never had to slow down trackin her. Lots of red. Lungs were pretty torn up. They shoot just like my field points.

I used to use the 4 blade 90's, they are an awesome broad head I was shooting them at 60 lbs and 265 fps, I bought a bowtech drawing 70 lbs and shooting 285 fps and I can't even get the new MX-4's to group, but the three bladers still shoot awesome. Muzzy all the way!!!!
